All That Glitters

This past weekend, we traveled down South to spend time with some old friends. (They're not that old; I mean, come on, how old can old friends be when you're only 26?) Regardless of their age or how long we've known them, they're good friends. When we were at their house, I wondered why we hadn't made a better effort to see them more. They don't live that far away; we always have fun in their company; and as a bonus, our kids get along (l to r: Mckelle, Nicole, Braden). It made me think of one of my mom's famous adages:

Make new friends, but keep the old.
One is silver, the other gold.

She wasn't kidding. You wouldn't believe the trouble Brad and Jamie went through to decorate a room that was perfectly tailored to our tastes: from the pillows to the curtains to the light switch cover plate (not shown), these friends went all out to make us feel welcome.Aren't they the best?! We love you guys!

Honestly, though, I think they decorated the room in BYU colors because BYU's medical is far superior to the U's. At least, that's what we've been told. One of Clint's classmates was on TRAX wearing his red UMED shirt (just as a coincidence; he was returning home from the library) following the annual Utah rivalry football game, when a man decked out in BYU blue said to him, "If you were really smart, you would be at BYU's medical school. They're the best."

Maybe he would have applied there if BYU had a medical school.
